BoxInBoxOut does the returns processing for most of our clients. Their customers are instructed to return products to the “Returns Department” at our address. We handle the receiving, storage and disposition of those returns. All returns and their status can be accessed on-line through our WMS reporting.
Processing returns is a basic service at Box In Box Out. It could be anything from a damaged product or the wrong size or color to inability to understand the instruction manual.
When a product is returned to Box In Box Out, our Returns Department matches this package with the information in our database our clients have noted in the system.
If there are no questions, Box In Box Out’s Returns Department than either returns the product to the client, places it back into inventory or recycles it, quarantine’s for disposal of damaged products or products needing re-packaging before resale, depending on the client’s preference. If the product is retained, inventory records are changed, and subsequent online inventory status reports reflect its return to inventory and current status.
We also report all product returns to the client. Very often the client can use these reports as an early warning system to replace a defective part, re-write instructions or ad copy, or take other steps to reduce future return levels.
